No te olvides de mí
A tribute to Día de Muertos in Madrid. La esquina de LENOM, Madrid, 2024.
Commissioned by LENOM, this meticulously hand-built and acrylic-painted work is based on the diorama series by Eduardo Sarabia. Conceived as a three-dimensional dreamlike scene, it honors memory and tradition, paying tribute to Mexico’s Day of the Dead through the artist’s distinctly personal visual language.
In Eduardo’s words: “What connects us collectively has always been important to me—celebrations, gatherings, memories, the need to honor our loved ones. We all have a portrait of someone we care about who is no longer close to us. With No te olvides de mí, I wanted to take the opportunity to gather on a street corner—like some of us did in our youth, whether in Mexico or Spain. I was interested in bringing people together to celebrate multicultural unity and the heritages we embrace through mestizaje, as well as our shared past—our forms, our colors, and the rituals that still unite us today.
